Local Attractions

Avoca Beach

A popular surf beach lined with towering Norfolk Island Pines, Avoca Beach has a relaxed atmosphere which is sought after by locals and visitors alike.The beach area, which stretches almost two kilometres, incorporates both Avoca Beach and North Avoca Beach and is renowned as a fisherman's paradise. A large rock platform at the southern end of the beach invites exploration and a protected rock pool provides a playground for young children. Aquafun leisure boat hire provides opportunities for the hire of aquabikes, pedalcats, kayaks and surf skis. Undercover barbecues and tables, grassed picnic areas, a children's playground, casual cafes, fine dining restaurants and the historic Avoca Beach Theatre are just some of the other attractions available at Avoca Beach. The beach is patrolled every day from October long weekend until the end of the April school holiday break. There is a public beachside car park and on street parking.

Avoca Beach Picture Theatre

Avoca Beach Picture Theatre is a boutique, family run cinema that prides itself in bringing the best in blockbuster, foreign, and art house films. As well as great films, Avoca Beach Picture Theatre is well known for its great events including French soirees, Italian evenings, Bollywood nights, film festivals and live events. The New York Metropolitan Opera, Britain's National Theatre Live, and a great selection of ballets from across the world make Avoca Beach Picture Theatre a must see destination of the Central Coast. The theatre is licensed to sell wine, beer and bubbly by the glass, this is a great experience to be able to enjoy a glass of wine before or during a movie.

Aquafun Avoca Lake

A "Must Do" Central Coast experience. Hire from a huge selection of pedal boats and kayaks, or try stand-up paddle boarding. Aquafun is located on the shores of Avoca Lake. An idyllic location, with shady picnic and barbecue areas, shops, cafes, children's playground and just 100 metres from the beach. Aquafun is a great Central Coast activity suitable for the whole family.

Ex-Hmas Adelaide Dive Site

The Ex-HMAS Adelaide is located 1.4 kilometres from the Skillion at Terrigal and 1.8 kilometres from Avoca Beach, resting in approximately 32 metres of water. In time, this artificial reef will earn its reputation as a world class dive attraction and create substantial benefits for the Central Coast community. Diving permits are required.

Block'n Tackle Brewery

For craft beer lovers, a trip to the Central Coast isn't complete without a visit to the Block 'n Tackle Brewery at Kincumber. Relaxed and family friendly, the brewery's cellar door is the ideal place to meet with friends to sample the wide range of 'small-batch' brewed beers like the Red Lizzie American Amber Ale, the Sir Thomas Porter and the popular Rock Lily Pale Ale. Beer tastings are conducted only metres from where the beers are brewed with takeaways and growler refills also available. Mezza plates featuring locally produced cheeses selected to pair with the ales, along with pies and snacks, are offered to accompany your tastings. Brewery tours can be organised most weekends, with 'meet the brewer' events also available for groups looking to learn more about the brewing process.
